CTA is a control panel integrator and fabricator supporting industries nationwide. Our work spans from individual machines to complete plant systems, combining engineering design with precise panel fabrication and field service.As a Field Service Technician, you'll serve as the frontline technical expert supporting customers with installations, troubleshooting, upgrades, and modifications of automation equipment and control systems.What You’ll DoTroubleshoot, repair, and modify mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical control systems at customer sitesInstall, test, and commission new equipment, including supervising placement, verifying hookups, and performing system adjustmentsPerform on-site upgrades and retrofits, including assembling kits, integrating components, debugging, and updating documentationTrain customer personnel on system operation, safety procedures, and preventive maintenanceProvide remote technical support and diagnostics from your home office as neededRead and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system documentationCollaborate with internal teams to communicate field updates, redline prints, and support accurate documentationBuild and maintain strong customer relationships while representing CTA with professionalismMaintain detailed service records and ensure project completion within quoted marginsComply with all safety standards, company policies, and UL specificationsTravel frequently, including overnight stays, based on project location and customer needsPerform other duties as assigned to support overall customer and company successWhat You’ll BringAssociate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 7+ years of hands-on experience in control systems or field serviceStrong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, including experience with PLCsAbility to read and interpret electrical and mechanical prints and wiring diagramsProficiency with diagnostic tools, basic hand and power tools, and panel shop equipmentSolid computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to support customer interactions and internal collaborationValid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly by car and airPhysical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., move frequently, and work extended hours on-site in industrial environmentsTravel: Up to 80%We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a culture built around teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
