
Staff Accountant - Fixed Assets

- Processes Fixed Asset journal entries and recurring journals monthly.
- Processes check invoice coding and approvals, accrues tax, checks invoices for accuracy and submits to A/P for processing.
- Reviews Expenditure Request Forms and communicates with external departments to manage asset additions/disposals.
- Maintains the Asset Management module monthly by setting up new stores, remodels and facilities projects in the system as well as removing fixed asset disposals.
- Maintains monthly reconciliations of fixed asset accounts.
- Prepares schedules for audits and reviews including but not limited to the fixed asset roll-forward.
- Proactively assess the accuracy and validity of CIP balances by following up with relevant departmental contacts (Facilities, Development, IT, etc.)
- Communicates with upper management in determining capitalization rates and calculates and records capitalized labor and interest monthly.
- Updates and maintains Accounts Payable vendors.
- Ensures SOX compliance by assisting the accounting team in adhering to internal controls.
- Participates in special projects as necessary.
- Interacts professionally and ethically, constructively participating as a collaborative team member in pursuit of common goals.

- Ability to read, write, and interpret complex reports, documents, and correspondence.
- High level of proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office Suite applications, customized database applications, and internet research tools.
- Adept at managing and prioritizing competing time sensitive requests while working well in a team atmosphere that may be under pressure.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance to the company.
- Ability to work at the Support Center consistent with the hybrid work policy.
