Alliance Resource Group is partnering with a real estate development and property management company in Newport Beach, California in the search for a Staff Accountant Role.
POSITION SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS
Job SummaryKey Responsibilities
Property Management Accounting
  • Maintain and update lease abstracts, tenant cards, and rent rolls.
  • Process tenant payments, reconcile tenant accounts to the general ledger, and monitor outstanding balances.
  • Prepare, enter, and reconcile CAM billings, accruals, and quarterly reconciliations.
  • Assist with property tax and insurance renewals, including schedule updates.
  • Support lender requests and reporting requirements with accurate rent roll and financial data.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of tenant rep accounts and triple-net lease calculations.
General Accounting
  • Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of chart of accounts and reporting in Sage 300.
  • Record and reconcile mortgage payments, depreciation entries, management fees, and promissory notes.
  • Support year-end activities including 1099 filings, audit schedules, and tax return preparations.
Team & Operational Support
  • Provide back-up support for check runs, deposits, vendor setup, and AP/AR processes.
  • Collaborate with the Controller on special projects, lender/audit reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Maintain vendor insurance certificates and W-9 documentation.
  • Support IT/software renewals and office administration tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of accounting experience in a property management environment.
  • Strong background in multi-entity accounting.
  • Hands-on experience with Sage 300 / Timberline required.
  • Solid understanding of triple net leases (NNN) and tenant rep accounts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, complex formulas).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
