We count on them to lead, ideate, art direct, and deliver world-class visual design.The role of the Senior Visual Designer at Sonos requires balancing a deep sense of collaboration with a strong point of view. They will help us build a portfolio of products that improve people’s lives through amazing audio experiences.We’re looking for an exceptionally creative senior visual designer to join the Packaging Experience team and help drive the visual expression for Sonos packaging design. Reporting to the Creative Director of Packaging Experience, this is an exceptional opportunity to create compelling new experiences and evolve our award winning packaging system.This role is a hybrid positionSome roles require an office while others may be done remotely. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Santa Barbara office location.What You’ll DoDevelop original ideas and concepts that answer product briefs across multiple product categories.Provide clear, focused direction to drive programs and initiatives (i.e. design briefs, presentations, concept sketches).Own the presentation of packaging designs to cross-functional teams.Develop scalable and consistent visual identity systems.Define and create packaging style guidelines.Drive and explore visual design development for upcoming programs/launches.Influence the development of sustainable packaging efforts or initiatives.What You’ll NeedResearch shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don't apply for roles if they don't meet all the criteria. If you don’t have 100% of the skills listed, we strongly encourage you to apply if interested.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in the field of Art, Design, or related disciplines.5+ years in the creative industry, working within Packaging Design, Brand Identity, Editorial Design, Typography, Art Direction. Packaging design experience is required.High level of design craft and mastery of typography, layout, color, and composition.Experience art directing for illustrations, renderings, and photography.Expert knowledge of Adobe CC Suite and G-Suite programs.Preferred Qualifications:Experience interfacing with outside vendors (design firms, suppliers, contractors, etc.)Experience and/or interest using 3D rendering software such as Keyshot, etc.Interest and understanding of photography and videography.Proficiency in Figma for ideation and presentation.Understanding of brand identity principles and systems.Have an excellent eye for emerging trends in visual design, print, and packaging.Ability to effectively communicate written, verbally, and visually. Strong presentation skills are invaluable.Ability to multitask, work quickly, and accurately, but take time for reflection and innovation.Team player actively working to foster a collaborative creative culture.#LI-HybridAt Sonos we consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, which may lead individual compensation to vary depending on job related qualifications, skills, and experience.
