Set-up and operate manual lathes, Bridgeport style mills, jig bore, grinders, etc. with minimal supervision.
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media according to established guidelines and procedures.
Based upon documented set-up instructions, select, align, and secure work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines to manufacture parts as drawing-specified.
During set-up, observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as needed.
Perform part inspections by verifying conformance of finished product to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines as per protocol.
Ensure that safe work practices are maintained.

10+ years' experience setting up and operating manual and CNC machines.
High School diploma or GED required.
Ability to utilize math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, Cartesian coordinate system and geometry.
Ability to effectively utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gage, comparator and dial indicator.
Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as work orders, drawings, manuals, set-up instructions and safety regulations.
Strong ability to work in a team focused environment.
Must be able to read and comprehend instructions as well as possess good oral communication skills
Access to reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
Physical Requirements:Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively. Candidate must be able to maneuver up to twenty pounds.
