- Lead, develop, and execute educational and cultural programs for the public.
- Collaborate with external organizations and internal departments to develop impactful programs that align with the WSM's mission.
- Create marketing materials and engage with local media outlets to advertise museum programs and other events. This includes graphics, media interviews, press releases, social media, and the WSM newsletter.
- Represent the museum at community events to increase awareness of the museum.
- Seek opportunities for collaborations between the museum and other institutions and community organizations.
- Manage and supervise volunteers and interns through recruitment, training, scheduling, and communication.
- Create and maintain supplies and documents for the museum's welcome desk.
- Work with the Supervisor of Exhibits & Programs to manage assigned budgets, including writing and tracking grants and generating private sponsorship opportunities.
- Collect and maintain visitor data and feedback from general visitation, exhibit content, and program attendees.
- Track and report on relevant data, including, but not limited to, program attendance, volunteer hours, social media analytics, and visitor demographics.
- Once every 7-8 weeks, serve a Monday through Saturday shift as the front-of-house manager. This role oversees museum security, responds to potential emergencies, and serves as the primary point of contact for visitors and volunteers. It is responsible for the opening and closing of the museum and covers the front desk if a volunteer is unavailable.
- Serve on museum and agency committees and perform other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends.NOTES:
