Want to know more? Visit for all the details.Hours are 7am - 3:30pm Mon. - Fri.JOB SUMMARY:Ensures adequate and appropriate staffing of the facility nursing department to meet the needs of the residents based on budget/census.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as confidential information.
Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures, and maintains established standards and practices.
Responsible for review of 24-hour staffing schedule to ensure optimum level of staff per shift in accordance with Homewood policies, needs and requirements.
Ensures the accuracy of staffing schedules with timely adjustments of changes and makes the schedule available to co-workers.
Completes monthly nursing schedules coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage.
Maintains daily attendance records.
Assists co-workers in accurate completion of forms (i.e., leave and day off requests, time records, etc.) pertinent to scheduling and staffing.
Works with Human Resources and DON when scheduling modified work duty co-workers in accordance with the Transitional Return To Work Program.
Consults with nursing department staff and supervisors concerning the staffing/scheduling needs and issues.
Develops and maintains a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility.
Reviews complaints and grievances pertinent to scheduling and staffing and communicates the information to the DON.
Maintains the documentation of special pay/hours for staff as determined and approved by management.
Responsible for the records of all staff call-ins and arranging of necessary replacements.
Responsible for keeping current rotation lists as determined by Administration.
Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience as a scheduler and electronic scheduling in healthcare preferred.
Exercises initiative, judgment, and problem solving capabilities in dealing with scheduling challenges.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult scheduling situations with co-workers.
Must have the ability to create strategies and recruit co-workers for scheduling purposes.
Advanced planning, time management, and decision making skills; detail and results-focused with consistency.
Proficiency with computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and scheduling software.
Data entry skills, accuracy, detailed oriented and ability to work independently with little supervision.
Good communication skills and able to work well with others
Ability to read, write and understand English well.
