
Network Engineer (Aruba Switches)

Project Overview:
The project involves the end-to-end replacement of aging switches across an entire property or campus environment. The engineer will assist with planning, staging, deployment, and cutover processes for Aruba switches—ensuring high availability and minimal service disruption during all phases of execution.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, staging, and implementation of Aruba switch replacements across the property.
- Perform physical installations, configurations, and testing of new Aruba switches.
- Decommission legacy switching hardware and migrate configurations as needed.
- Coordinate switch cutovers with operations and technology teams to minimize business impact.
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, performance, or configuration issues during the migration.
- Update network documentation including topology maps, port assignments, and configuration logs.
- Ensure adherence to change control, security, and compliance requirements throughout the project.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, cabling, and desktop support teams during installations.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure support, ideally in large-scale environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Aruba switches (CX series preferred).
- Solid understanding of Layer 2 networking, VLANs, trunking, port security, and switch stacking.
- Experience managing hardware upgrades and large-scale deployments.
- Familiarity with Switchboard, network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Airwave), or similar platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in live production environments.
- Ability to interpret network diagrams and implement based on technical specifications.
- Experience working in regulated environments (PCI, SOX, MICS) is a plus.
- Must be eligible to obtain Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration (if applicable).
