
OEM Business Development Manager - Specialty Films

- Responsible for specification of Covestro films at key OEMs including coordination with global players in the medical and wind energy industry segments with a focus on multilayer TPU films
- Implementing the Specialty Films sales & marketing strategies at OEMs as defined by the Regional Segment Managers in select industry segments
- Drive engagement of value chain for wind blade leading edge protective tape to support product development and commercialization
- Develop and monitor project pipeline and contribute to long range forecast in conjunction with Senior Business Development Manager, Segment Managers and Account Managers
- Facilitate knowledge exchange between regions including translation of expertise and key applications from existing subject matter experts
- Travel with account managers to support value selling of multilayer product application development and value selling tactics, and represent Covestro and contribute at commercial and technical fairs
- Collaborate with Senior OEM Business Development manager to prioritize targets and utilize best practices in business development tactics
- Generate and collect customer, market and industry data and share this within the organization
- Master’s degree with 4+ years’ experience in a (external) customer facing, commercial role; OR Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years’ experience in a (external) customer facing, commercial role; OR Associate’s degree with 9+ years’ experience in a (external) customer facing, commercial role; OR High School diploma with 14+ years' experience in a (external) customer facing, commercial role
- Commercial or technical background/experience with relevance to Plastics, medical device or industrial market
- Knowledge of medical applications
- Experience with plastics/films application development
- Experience/knowledge of TPU resins/films
- Degree discipline in Polymer Science or Plastics Engineering
- Self-starter with a strong hunter mindset and a passion for building new business
- Strong commercial and/or technical acumen, ideally with exposure to engineered films or polymers
- Strategic thinker with business insights
- Well-developed technical and sales skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong presentation skills

- Willingness to travel domestically up to 30%, with ability to travel internationally
