- Provide technical oversight for vegetation analysis projects, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.
- Analyze and interpret LiDAR data for Utility Vegetation in Transmission & Distribution networks.
- Utilize GIS tools to map, track, and analyze vegetation data, ensuring accuracy and seamless integration into utility systems.
- Perform quality control (QC) checks on spatial data to maintain accuracy and consistency across databases.
- Identify and assess vegetation encroachments near powerlines using LiDAR and GIS tools.
- Assist in developing automated workflows to improve data processing and project efficiency.
- Work independently while also contributing effectively to a team-based, hybrid workforce.
- Maintain efficiency, quality, and attention to detail while handling repetitive and complex analytical tasks.
- Communicate proactively with task leads and production teams regarding data flow, task progress, risks, and estimated completion times.
- 5+ years of technical experience working with spatial data and GIS analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, environmental science, planning, GIS, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in ESRI software, vector-based platforms, and Terra Solid products.
- Experience in a professional work environment with GIS applications for utility vegetation management.
- Utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for advanced spatial analysis and data visualization.
- Conducting LiDAR mapping and analysis to assess vegetation and infrastructure.
- Applying utility vegetation management workflows for Transmission & Distribution (T&D), including compliance with vegetation clearance regulations.
- Evaluating and interpreting transmission tower and distribution pole components (e.g., wire types, insulators, transformers).
- Developing and implementing automated workflows, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance strategies.
