- Prepares all sales and TABC tax returns, file those returns, and oversee their payment.
- Participates in month end closing, including JV preparation and direct entry made into the General Ledger system.
- Assist in special projects as requested by the Director of Finance.
- Handles the accounts payable clerks' duties during very busy periods.
- All general ledger accounts must be reconciled and corrections made. All bank accounts and credit card accounts will be reconciled and the accounts corrected.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ensures that all guest interactions meet the highest level of service and warm welcome/departure for all guests.
- Operate facsimile machine to send, receive, and log incoming transmissions.
- Assist the Director of Finance in preparation of forecasts and budgets.
- Oversee internal control procedures.
- Maintain the capital budget program.
- Maintain tracking of expenditures for hotel pre-opening and capital projects for multiple properties.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
- Basic mathematical skills and considerable skill in the use of a calculator to prepare moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work large complex programs with great attention to detail while continually presenting a positive attitude, great customer skills and a passion to succeed.
- Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- Analytical abilities to make sound decisions.
- Knowledge of basic hotel operations.
- Knowledge of standard hotel policies and finance and internal controls.
- Ability to coordinate and cooperate with other departments regarding credit activities.
- The ability to manage credit operations.
- Ability to organize detailed information.
- Strong leadership skills.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 4 (four) year college degree in Accounting required.
- Prior hospitality experience preferred.
