- Responsible for general cleaning, vacuuming floors and furniture, emptying trash and recycling containers, dusting, mopping, sanitizing, washing windows and mirrors, and cleaning/stocking restrooms, bathrooms, and offices.
- Learns where custodial supplies are kept and replenished supplies when needed.
- Observe and identify areas that need repair and submit information to the supervisor.
- Complies with state and federal policies such as OSHA and EPA.
- Operates and maintains equipment, including hand and shop tools.
- Moves furniture and sets up conference rooms for meetings and events.
- Performs designated watchman rounds to ensure security and safety, checks building systems for proper function, and updates security logs.
- Performs chemical renovations.
- Daily - maintain a log of time, job duties, and plans for all employees.
- Take charge of a crew in Supervisor's absence by regulating workflow, and ensuring daily duties and special projects are completed.
- Track employee work time and help employees complete their timesheets.
- Conduct verbal discipline for minor infractions and provide employees with direction on work attire, etc.
- Address customer complaints or requests; document all issues, including employee performance and crew activities, and report to the Supervisor.
- Provide New Employees or refresher training.
- Assist Supervisor with suggestions on necessary staffing; and assist in planning and scheduling for special projects.
- Maintain or assist the supervisor in updating Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Basic cleaning, sanitizing, and trash removal.
- Perform detailed vacuuming and hard-surface floor care.
- Recycling of paper, plastic, cardboard, aluminum, etc.
- Knowledge of safety and regulations.
- Knowledge of agency policy and procedures.
- Knowledge of light and heavy-duty equipment.
- Knowledge of basic math.
- Knowledge of materials, supplies, equipment, and methods of more technical cleaning and maintenance.
- Exposure to hazardous materials, bodily fluids, chemicals, bio-hazards, and/or elements.
- Must be able to drive vehicles, and/or operate large complex cleaning and grounds maintenance equipment.
