
Civil Engineer with EIT

- Assist in the design of civil engineering projects, including grading, stormwater management, utilities, roadways, and site layout.
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis related to hydrology, drainage systems, erosion control, and other aspects of land development.
- Prepare and review design drawings, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
- Support senior engineers and project managers in coordinating various aspects of land development projects.
- Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules, cost estimates, and budgets.
- Help in the preparation of permit applications and documentation required for local, state, and federal approvals.
- Assist with research and ensure compliance with zoning, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Attend and participate in meetings with local municipalities and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Conduct field inspections and site surveys to gather data on existing site conditions, topography, and utilities.
- Assist with the preparation of reports on site conditions, environmental concerns, and potential design challenges.
- Evaluate and recommend solutions for design issues identified during site visits or client discussions.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders to support project goals.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients, regulatory agencies, and project meetings.
- Participate in regular project meetings, providing updates and supporting senior engineers with project tasks.
- Assist in the preparation and review of contract documents, specifications, and construction plans.
- Maintain organized project documentation, including design files, meeting notes, and correspondence.
- Assist in the review of contractor submittals and shop drawings.
- Continue to learn and develop civil engineering skills through mentorship, training, and gaining experience.
- Participate in professional organizations and stay up to date with changes in civil engineering standards and best practices.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Licensure: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in land development, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles, land development practices, and design techniques.
- Familiarity with stormwater management, grading, and utility systems.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, coordinating with engineers, project managers, and clients.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS).
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
- Experience with Microsoft Project or similar project management software.
