Actively engaging and supporting senior stakeholders and others to ensure compliance and best practice are implemented.Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on the application of HIPPA, GDPR and other privacy laws to products and services in the Health Markets & Corporate Markets portfolios.
  • Advise/review BAAs and other documentation as required under HIPPA.
  • As part of Elsevier Privacy Leadership, actively drive, engage in and contribute to strategic planning and special projects.
  • Identify and deliver training as needed within the Health Markets & Corporate Markets portfolios.
  • Ensure that all required documentation is completed and that any PIAs or other assessments are carried out in line with team SLAs.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders to ensure that risks are flagged and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating the development, implementation, and administration of policies and procedures for personal data protection.
  • Collaborating with Legal and IT departments to identify personal data risks and establish procedures to eliminate these risks.
  • Monitoring procedures related to the collection, storage, retrieval, and disclosure of personal data.
  • Identifying and following up on data protection issues that require investigation, resolution, and/or legal action.
  • Providing professional legal advice regarding personal data privacy.
  • Identifying applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems
  • Interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices.
Requirements
  • Have specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in personal data protection.
  • Be able to interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices.
  • Be capable of leading functional teams or projects and serving as a best practice/quality resource.
  • Be able to communicate complex concepts and influence others to adopt a different point of view.
  • Demonstrate expert guidance on the application of HIPAA, GDPR and other privacy laws.
  • Be capable of identifying training needs within specific portfolios.
  • Develop all required documentation is completed and assessments are carried out in line with team SLAs.
