- Prepare biweekly journal entries for entry into the general ledger utilizing Deltek Costpoint by calculating and collecting necessary data
- Provide audit support for the following: Payroll, 401k, Health Insurance, Group Life insurance, FSA, Banking, and company credit card transactions, Adjustment / Reconciling items
- Actively participate in cost management efforts for the company
- Prepare ad hoc or various accounting/financial reports as required
- Provide requested data and support for external audits
- Responsible for both AP and AR, revenue recognition, general ledger, cost allocations, indirect rates
- Investigate issues, research, and present solutions to problems
- Provide testing, validation, and feedback to support business migration to Deltek Costpoint
- Prepare Month-End Close and monthly reconciliation reports
- Prepare annual closeout documents including sending year end 1099s to independent contractors and assist tax accountant to prepare annual tax reports
- Prepare and participate in DCAA Audit and Annual SBA Audit
- Prepare and submit Incurred Cost Submission every year
- Ensure compliance with government contracting procedures
- Set up and maintain all projects for T&M, FFP and CPFF Contracts.
- Track revenue, costs, and profitability providing insight into project performance for Project Managers
- Complete credit card reconciliation and benefits reconciliation at the end of each month
- Prepare Financial Reports/Statements for Owner Review prior to Month End Closing
- Create Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Accounting Policies and Procedures
- Streamline and improve processes and implement process enhancements
- Assist with Pricing for Cost Proposals if needed
- Full Cycle Accounting Experience working with different Government Agencies
- More than 5 years of solid accounting working experience (both AP and AR)
- More than 4 years of solid working experience with Deltek Costpoint
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of GAAP standards and guidelines and government contracting regulations (FAR, CAS, DCAA)
- Highly organized with attention to detail and strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Self-starter that needs minimum supervision
