Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Details
- Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NICU/PICU
- Location: Baltimore, MD 21201 (Maryland healthcare jobs)
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Healthcare Setting: Hospital Level 4 NICU, Level 1 Trauma, Med/Surg ICU
- Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 07:30)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (based on preference)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 End: 1/5/2026)
- Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holiday
- On Call: Not required
- Patient Population: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adults
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1780-$1910
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU/PICU focus (first-time travelers with strong skills considered)
- Active Maryland or Compact State Respiratory Therapist License
- Required Certifications: RRT, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NRP (AAP or NRP)
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- Preferred: Previous charge experience, Level I/II Trauma experience
- Ability to float to various hospital respiratory therapy units as needed
- Two professional references required (one supervisor/manager, one charge RN)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Must reside at least 50 miles from facility
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to neonates, pediatric, and adult patients in NICU, PICU, and critical care units
- Perform advanced respiratory therapy procedures: intubation assist, ventilator management (Maquet Servo i, Draeger V500, Jet Ventilation, Oscillation, Nitric Oxide)
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs), manage aerosol therapies, and assist in high-risk deliveries
- Participate in neonatal and pediatric transports within the hospital
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other respiratory therapy units as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation using Epic charting system
- Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and scheduling requirements
