As a Data Migration Analyst II/III, you will play a key role in designing and implementing complex data migrations for government clients. You will develop and optimize ETL routines using Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and ensure the accuracy and performance of data transformations. At the III level, you will also mentor junior analysts, provide technical leadership, and help define data architecture standards and best practices.This role combines deep technical expertise with collaboration and clear communication. You will be part of a mission-driven team where your work directly impacts project success and environmental protection outcomes.What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain custom ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) routines in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
- Optimize performance and troubleshoot complex logic in stored procedures and data pipelines
- Gather and interpret business and data requirements, translating them into technical architecture and workflows
- Communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and clients
- Collaborate with Systems Analysts, developers, and project teams to ensure successful data migrations
- Document technical decisions, processes, and improvements
- (Level III) Mentor junior team members, provide code reviews, and share best practices
- (Level III) Lead discussions on database design, data architecture, and ETL strategy for client projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Three or more years (II) or five or more years (III) of hands-on SQL Server development experience
- Strong expertise in SQL, T-SQL, relational databases, and building ETL routines for complex data transformations
- Solid understanding of relational data models, database architecture, and data conversion workflows
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting or similar automation tools
- Ability to balance independent execution with collaboration in a team environment
- (Level III) Proven leadership experience including mentoring, technical guidance, or process ownership
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
