Aspire has health centers in four Central Indiana counties serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life.Position SummaryThe Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) will provide specialized interpreting services to deaf, deaf-blind, and hard of hearing individuals in both clinical and non clinical settings, including integrated behavioral health, medical, outpatient, and school based programs. The CDI will collaborate with ASL interpreters and professionals to facilitate accurate, culturally and linguistically appropriate communication between deaf clients, their families, staff, and hearing individuals as part of the interdisciplinary team. Services may be provided in person or via remote platforms, ensuring effective communication access in therapeutic and community environments.Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
Must be fluent and able to effectively communicate with hearing individuals and in ASL with deaf, deaf-blind, hard of hearing individuals and individuals with minimal language skills
Mental Health and/or medical setting experience highly preferred
Understanding of the behavioral health, healthcare and community work, is a plus
Certification
Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) National Certification required

Ability to be flexible and work some early evenings during the Monday - Friday period
Must have a strong understanding of deaf culture and resources related to deafness and interpreter standards
Must adhere to the RID’s Code of Professional Conduct (CPC)
Must be able to use appropriate industry terminology, have excellent listening, retention and presentation skills
Must have reliable transportation to travel between multiple locations to interpret and attend trainings and/or meetings
Must maintain a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization
