- Oversee the proper execution of Climbing Wall programs in accordance with the RSFS purpose, vision and values.
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate student and part-time employees for Climbing Wall programs and route setting.
- Oversee the daily operations of Spartan Summit Climbing Wall and separate bouldering areas within the SRWC, including cleanliness, risk management, and customer service.
- Lead, conduct, and evaluate Climbing Wall programs and make updates based on current research to increase participation of the campus community.
- Assist with the outdoor gear rental program located in RSFS facilities, including assisting with the maintenance of all equipment associated with adventure recreation, including kayaks, canoes, personal flotation devices, and general camping equipment.
- Research and recommend potential purchases of equipment and items associated with the operations of the Outdoor Adventure/Recreation & Climbing Wall programs.
- Develop and manage the electronic system which tracks belay endorsements that are applicable to the Spartan Summit climbing wall.
- Serve as the primary support for the management and application of computer systems and software for all uses related to the Climbing Wall.
- Updates all employee manuals related to the climbing spaces.
- Collaborates with campus departments and the student community to promote and implement climbing and other adventure activities.
- Identify potential risks associated with the climbing wall and maintain standards to ensure a safe environment for all guests.
- Responsible for documenting equipment usage related to facility rentals.
- Create and present training and leadership development materials for the Spartan Summit and bouldering space part-time staff.
- Ensure all programming is conducted in accordance with university, department, and risk management standards.
- Assist in the promotion and publicizing of unit programs in conjunction with the ASG Communications Manager.
- Support the efforts of department initiatives, processes, and procedures. Review matters relating to fees, supervision, budget, and fiscal responsibilities.
- Compile information and data regarding program attendance, risk assessments, preventative maintenance, surveys, and training evaluations to aid in programmatic decision-making and to compile monthly, mid-year, and annual reports.
- Enforce and maintain RSFS policies and procedures as they pertain to usage of facilities relative to competitive sports.
- Create collaborative programming with other RSFS areas as needed.
- Serve on departmental, divisional, or University committees as assigned.
