PACU RN Job Details Roanoke, VA
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Healthcare Setting: PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit), supporting inpatient, outpatient, endoscopy, ICU, vascular, OB, cardiac, and interventional radiology patients
- Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 07:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Start Date: October 6, 2025
- End Date: January 5, 2026
- Location: Roanoke, VA 24014 (Virginia travel nursing job)
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Call: Assigned per signup sheet
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,780 - $1,910
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Virginia or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent PACU and ICU nursing experience (both required)
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (CCRN and NIHSS preferred)
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
- Trauma Level II experience required; Level I preferred
- Ability to work at least 1 holiday during assignment (2 holidays for winter contracts)
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Must reside more than 100 miles from facility (no local candidates)
- Deliver expert post-anesthesia care to a diverse patient population: adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
- Support a broad range of surgical specialties: trauma, ICU, bariatric, breast, colorectal, dental, ENT, gastroenterology, gynecology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, pulmonology, urology, and more
- Perform advanced clinical skills: airway assessment, central line and chest tube management, ventilator care, blood product administration, pain assessment, and medication reconciliation
- Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response
- Participate in call rotation and provide weekend coverage as scheduled
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and complete all required orientation modules
