- Observe and inspect workmanship of contractor construction activities as it pertains to compliance of the plans & specifications.
- Interpret contract documents for the contractor as necessary to assist with compliance with the terms of the construction contract, including Plans & Specifications.
- Coordinate and document with the OSP Manager any communications with the Contractor or client that may be interpreted as a change in the terms of the contract changes that may affect the construction cost or performance.
- Correct and maintain the construction drawings where inspection has been observed and record the ‘as-built’ inventory units and routing.
- Observe the manner and incorporation of materials, equipment, and workmanship by the Contractor as measured in accordance with Contract Plans & Specifications.
- Maintain required CHR Solutions issued project inspection forms and provide the results to the OSP or Project Manager.
- Participate in acceptance testing as needed.
- Manage, assist in training and/or serve as the main point of contact for OSP Technicians and Inspectors on the assigned project.
- Maintain compliance with current state and federal safety guidelines; carry out all work in a safe manner and in alignment with safety practices.
- Coordinate with external permitting authorities and internal permitting team as needed.
- Professionally represent CHR Solutions and client. May be required to communicate directly with clients or homeowners regarding the project.
- Communicate daily with manager, peers, and project management team in person or via phone and email; attend in-person or virtual meetings and trainings as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and input daily production metrics.
- Adhere to internal and external field design practices, standards, policies and procedures.
- Raise project concerns or risks to management as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management, and based on the needs of the business.
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel 100% with reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and walk several miles per day.
- Minimum 5 years related work experience with OSP Construction including aerial, underground, and buried applications.
- Strong understanding of OSP fiber optic aerial and buried construction.
- Strong understanding of RUS Units and construction procedures.
- Ability to follow company procedures and guidelines.
- Proficiency working with a tablet and computer.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work 40 to 60+ hours per week.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Supervisory or managerial experience with small to mid- sized teams.
- Strong understanding of OSP Fiber Design preferred.
- Proficiency understanding right-of-way permitting guidelines.
