This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Cole Engineering Center Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the businessThe RoleThis team is responsible for sourcing Technology purchases (Software, Software as a Service, Infrastructure) on a regional and global basis. Primary responsibility is to develop, negotiate and implement sourcing strategies by working with key stakeholders on technology requirements, IT, security and legal, which then requires preparing and completing sourcing recommendations to various levels of management.What You'll DoUnderstand the IT industry and the long-term direction GM/Software and Services is headed.Determine viable suppliers for technology requirements.Develop and manage suppliers under the guidance of Quality, Service, Technology, and Price strategies. This includes sound understanding of deadlines, required lead times, supplier contracts and application types.Active participation with key stakeholders, including Software and Services, the business stakeholder, Legal, and Security.Manage annual renewal cadence and deadlines.Adheres to Corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures.Negotiate price, terms, and other items to complete full contract package.Utilize GPSC Sourcing Process to manage Sourcing packages.Utilize GPSC Sourcing Process (Request for Quotation, Analysis of Quotation, Source Selection) to establish a capable/competitive supply base.Develop benchmarking for each sourcing package.This job may be eligible for relocation benefitsAdditional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)2+ years of post graduate experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, program/product management or product developmentProject Management SkillsUnderstand basic technology (licensing and Legal) conceptsCapability to function independentlyProficient communication skillsHigh level knowledge (or ability to learn) about items being purchasedAnalytical skills, including the ability to do in-depth benchmarkingAbility to handle multiple projects and assignments simultaneously, and prioritize requestsAppropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goalsKnowledge of computer software (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet Research)SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systemsPreferred :Bachelors DegreeExperience with IT, Technology or SoftwareGM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
