Responsibilities & QualificationsPosition OverviewThe Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join the team. This position is accountable for supporting plant maintenance in order to reach the maximized availability of machines with optimized costs, to ensure the proper conduct of maintenance activities and to improve and maintain the technical facilities of the plant under exemplary conditions of environment, health and safety. This position will report to the EMRA Leader for the assigned area.Responsibilities:

  • Lead preventative maintenance of machines (including obsolete machines)
  • Manage budgets of equipment maintenance, repair and refurbishment projects
  • Develop collaborative and positive relationships between Maintenance, Operations and Process Teams.
  • Support quality improvement process awareness and teamwork during all aspects of maintenance operations
  • Support safety awareness and environmental consciousness throughout the maintenance organization, and follow all applicable Novelis safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
  • Define and implement the maintenance targets and action plans to optimize machine availabilities
  • Analyze downtimes and implement the required corrective actions to improve the reliability
  • Define the work plan in collaboration with production to improve efficient outage execution and uptime for the process.
  • Support the production initiatives to improve plant efficiency & use Lean Principles to support improvements to processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree, 2-year technical degree; or experience equivalent preferred (Electrical or Mechanical background)
  • 5+ years industrial maintenance or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience leading people.
  • Experience scheduling and planning of work and personnel.
  • Very high mechanical proficiency
  • Experience using contractor management to perform project and maintenance activities.

Location ProfileNovelis' newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile AL and 45 miles west of Pensacola FL and is expected to create approximately 1000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind. It will primarily serve our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
