- Provide legal counsel and representation to insurance companies in insurance defense cases, mainly professional liability and construction defects.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective defense strategies.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, legal briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including claims adjusters and underwriters, to evaluate and manage claims.
- Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law required.
- 2-5 years of experience practicing insurance defense law, with a focus on litigation.
- Experience in any of the following: medical malpractice, premises liability, mass torts, transportation, construction, and products liability strongly encouraged
- Trial experience preferred and not required
- Strong knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to manage a high caseload and work independently.
