- Manage the acquisition of imagery, elevation, and hydrography data along with all associated derivative products that provide systemic and foundational insights for all stakeholders,
- Develop and produce technical and policy reports and analyses for agency officials, members of the legislature, and the public, as needed,
- Provide training and outreach on the use of such information to all stakeholders,
- Participate in stakeholder engagement and coordination as pertaining to supporting state's use and dissemination of geospatial data and development and implementation of the state GIS strategic plan,
- Design and manage data collection forms and procedures for reporting from state agencies, political subdivisions (regional and local), and third parties (including the public), including secure transfer of data,
- Perform advanced technical data processing to aggregate and organize existing data sets and create new data sets,
- Develop procedures and tools for storage of and access to mapping data, including maintaining confidentiality of data pursuant to state requirements, and
- Perform other duties as required.

- College training or a master's degree in a discipline related to data science, information technology, or geographic information systems;
- Experience working with the principles, practices, terminology, and trends in geographic information systems, spatial data, analysis, and related technology;
- Experience working with imagery, elevation, or hydrography data;
- Experience with one or more professional GIS applications, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.;
- Experience with ETL processes, data science, and scripting and query languages (SQL, Python, R, JavaScript) in relation to large datasets
- Experience with GIS project management, including timeline planning, documentation, personnel and technical resources, stakeholder engagement, QA/QC, vendor management, and the preparation of deliverables;
- Experience conducting requirements gathering, interpret needs, and design solutions, and manage expectations;
- Experience with data discovery, dissemination, and conditioning (i.e. spatializing non-spatial data, schema transformations, error correction, etc.);
- Experience coordinating the collection, compilation, and dissemination of data across multiple constituencies;
- Experience managing public access to data;
- Experience working with state, regional, and municipal government, industry or business, and economic development professionals;
- Experience explaining complex, technical subject matter to a diverse set of stakeholders;
- Experience with the development of graphics, reports, or dashboards to present key findings and information; and
- Experience with policies and procedures for safe, ethical, and secure use of data.
