Support Mining Operations. Learn Site Planning.
Capitol Aggregates is seeking a Mine & Site Planning Intern to join our aggregates division. Under the guidance of our Mine & Site Planning Manager, you’ll contribute to projects that optimize mine operations, improve site efficiency, and support long-term planning. This internship provides hands-on exposure to mining and site planning in a real-world aggregates environment, offering valuable experience for students pursuing engineering and geology fields.What You’ll DoPerform mine design and planning work, contributing to projects involving mining efficiency, mine progression, and process flow.Conduct fieldwork to support active mine sites, including surveying and site layout activities.Collect, organize, and document operational and geological data.Assist with the creation and organization of environmental and site documentation, maps, and drawings.Present project updates and findings to the Mine & Site Planning Manager.Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving mine planning processes.Maintain work area and equipment in a safe and clean condition at all times.Support all company and plant safety policies, rules, and procedures, as well as MSHA regulations.What You’ll BringProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.Strong attention to detail with an ability to analyze and organize technical information.Clear communication and teamwork skills.Commitment to producing high-quality work while maintaining a safety-first mindset.Education & ExperienceMust be currently enrolled in a degree program in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.Other QualificationsFAA Remote Pilot Certificate (preferred).Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software (preferred).Surveying experience is helpful but not required.Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.Why You’ll Love This Role✔ Gain practical field and office experience in mining and aggregates.
