- Lead and standardize capital procurement processes across projects, including business partner agreements, procurement strategy, market engagement, sourcing and contracting, claims management, and supplier relationship management.
- Develop and implement global metrics to measure procurement effectiveness and compliance.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration focused on project execution, talent development, training, and knowledge sharing.
- Provide strategic insights into project risks and the global capital plan; implement mitigation strategies aligned with Lilly’s long-term goals.
- Maintain external visibility of best-in-class procurement practices through benchmarking and technology adoption.
- Influence global project teams and senior leadership to develop comprehensive procurement strategies that ensure predictable performance.
- Ensure consistent sourcing practices across engineering, construction, equipment, and automation categories.
- Contribute to robust category strategies and supplier risk management aligned with market conditions and business needs.
- Mentor and develop procurement talent through coaching, training, and experiential learning.
- Collaborate with audit teams to embed world-class controls in contracts and procurement strategies.
- Participate in governance activities to provide commercial leadership, foster collaboration, and drive strategic problem-solving.
- Support post-funding project execution through close collaboration with procurement teams.
- Proven leadership in capital project procurement for design, construction, equipment, and commissioning on projects exceeding $1B.
- Mastery of core sourcing skills: account management, category strategy, spend analysis, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across teams without formal reporting lines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in procurement project management, process design, and governance.
- Familiarity with capital project controls, metrics, and governance.
- Leadership experience in cGMP environments and manufacturing processes.
