Summary : The Nurse Extern facilitates the transition from student nurse to graduate. Under the supervision of the registered nurse, participates in patient-centered nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. Contributes to the goals of the department by providing an opportunity to develop the foundation for critical thinking as it relates to nursing care. Through collaborative practice with members of the care team, contributes to patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care.
