- Evaluate prices, specifications, delivery dates, award bids and place orders with suppliers.
- Prepare purchasing documentation and verify nomenclature and specifications of purchasing requisitions.
- Develop expertise on procurement of commodities related products and components that support Aerospace requirements.
- Implement continuous replenishment strategies with assigned suppliers.
- Execute supplier rationalization plans and support transition to existing and/or new suppliers.
- Support negotiation and execution of commercial agreement to reach lowest total cost including terms to mitigate economic and currency fluctuations as appropriate for assigned commodities (e.g., long-term agreements, make/buy, market tests, etc.).
- Support, and when required lead, cost reduction projects and improvement initiatives to achieve overall business objectives.
- Update and maintain purchase orders in Materials Resource Planning (MRP) system for changes in design and delivery requirements.
- Balance current and future demand requirements with supplier capabilities / capacities to ensure on-time delivery of purchased parts.
- Analyze data, including enterprise requirements, planning information, and prepare reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal supply chain execution.
- Evaluate supplier performance requirements including quality, cost and timing expectations.
- Work with vendors for improved delivery, quality, lead time, and price performance. Evaluate these metrics with the critical suppliers regularly.
- Comply with plant safety procedures to ensure a safe environment.
- Improve internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Comply with Supply Chain and Purchasing procedures and Quality System requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business or Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing or Aerospace facility.
- The position requires a working knowledge of commodities purchased, supply sources, contracting methods and strategies, and Company products and components.
- Capacity to logically solve problems and manage projects by utilizing a data-driven, detail-oriented, approach.
- Analytical ability to prepare supplier performance reports, cost/price analyses, and other performance measures.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to participate in and/or lead a cross-functional team.
- Proven use of negotiation techniques and tactics.
- Possess ability to drive for results, hold self and others accountable, and continuously improve.
- Should have a working knowledge of FAR/DFAR U.S. Government procurement procedures.
- Proficient user of computers and computer software.
- Previous work and/or internship experience in Supply Chain Management.
- CPSM or CPM certification, preferred.
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Familiarity/experience with lean manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques (e.g., RCCA, Six Sigma methodology).
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO-9001.
- Use of and deployment of electronic data interchange procurement and continuous replenishment methods.
- Excellent planning, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
- Results driven with excellent project and time management skills.
