Dorman Products is looking for an experienced IT network engineer to support the enterprise on-prem and cloud infrastructure. This role is part of a team of internal contributors supported by managed service providers responsible for the operations and engineering of the Dorman’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate would be experienced in network administration as well as network design and security. Candidate would be well versed in IT networking concepts, public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, Capacity, and Change Management. This role will have a primary focus on designing and implementing and maintaining highly reliable networks and enhancing monitoring and event management capabilities and procedures. This candidate will partner with managed services providers to recommend and implement changes to technology and processes to improve visibility into the health of the environment to provide improved support. This candidate should have strong, technical hands-on skills with network technologies including, but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and VPN. A key aspect of the role will be to help review and develop new standards for a hybrid cloud operating model and engineer the integration and connectivity of applications hosted in one or more on-premise locations, Azure, AWS, and in SaaS provider environments.This role requires the candidate to be familiar with all aspects of IT infrastructure engineering and operations, with a strong technical skillset in networking and cloud. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, able to identify risk/opportunities and create recommendations to influence change.Primary Duties
  • Engineering support for network expansion (LAN and WAN) and hybrid cloud connectivity
  • Support infrastructure projects and coordinate with internal customers and change management
  • Troubleshoot, manage, maintain network equipment and connectivity
  • Monitor capacity and utilization and recommend growth or architecture changes to optimize performance
  • Help plan and organize infrastructure changes and improvement efforts
  • Support growing hybrid cloud environment and multi-data center environment
  • Ensure environments are secure and compliant with secure policies and best practices
  • Perform network administration tasks such as installing updates
  • Perform disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity
  • Coordinate with managed service providers to support and maintain the environment
  • Recommend changes to improve operations and system performance
  • Be part of an on-call rotation for after-hour and weekend support.
  • Coach and mentor junior network engineers
  • Work independently in a remote-based organization
