What you will do:
Work closely with an assigned engineer to:
Apply thermal science theory and principles to HVAC data analysis and modeling
Learn and contribute to Daikin heat exchanger performance modeling and prediction
Learn basics of HVAC industry heat exchanger and chiller design, operation, and modeling
Interact with and get exposure to a range of Daikin engineering personnel, including test technicians and laboratory personnel, engineers, project managers, and engineering management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Junior currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering or related
Successfully completed Thermodynamics I
Completion of Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics by Spring 2026
Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Exposure to HVAC systems
Experience with experimental methods, data analysis and uncertainty analysis
Reside within a 300-mile radius of the Plymouth, MN office
The typical hourly pay rate for this position is $24/hr - $27/hr. This represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
