What You'll Need:
  • Graduation from accredited LPN training program required; previous experience as an LPN in a clinical or other healthcare setting preferred.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire
What You'll Do:As a LPN in the Emergency Department, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and efficient care to patients in urgent medical situations. Provide nursing care activities consistent with education, training, and licensure according to an established health care plan, as delegated by the registered nurse or physician. Directs or escorts patients to various clinical areas, prepares patients and assists with examinations and assessments, makes observations, collects data, and reports information. Performs physical and physiologic measurements using standardized guidelines. Serves as liaison between patient and provider. Administers and documents medications ordered by the providers. Calls in medication orders to the patient's pharmacy.Essential Functions:Patient/Family Centered Care: Utilize the nursing process to deliver compassionate care, placing patients and their families at the center of every decision. Conduct thorough assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan interventions, and coordinate care to promote optimal health and wellbeing in accordance with the policies of WFBH.Safe, Therapeutic, and Healing Environment: Create a secure and healing environment by safeguarding patient privacy and ensuring responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. Embrace technology and equipment to enhance patient and staff safety.Effective Communication: Demonstrate excellent communication skills to foster collaboration among the healthcare team, facilitating information sharing throughout the continuum of care. Active participation in our professional practice model and shared governance initiatives will promote teamwork, leadership, and clinical excellence.Professional Growth and Accountability: Function effectively in a professional setting by actively participating in peer review, professional development, and adherence to care standards.
