- Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests with a warm smile and friendly demeanor as they arrive. Escort guests to their tables and provide them with menus as appropriate for the service period.
- Reservation Management: Manage reservations through the booking system, ensuring accurate seating arrangements and timely communication with guests.
- Communication Liaison: Function as a communication hub between guests and staff, relaying special requests or preferences to the right team members and/or departments.
- Maintaining Waitlist: Manage the waitlist during peak hours, estimating wait times accurately and keeping guests informed of their status.
- Assisting Guests: Assist guests as needed, including answering questions about the menu, offering recommendations, and addressing concerns or complaints in a prompt and professional manner.
- Coordinating with Servers: Coordinate with servers to ensure a smooth transition between seating and service, communicating any special requests or requirements from guests.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the host stand and Main House Commons clean and organized at all times, including ensuring menus are wiped down and sanitized regularly.
- Must have outstanding interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to provide exceptional service to guests.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are essential for effectively interacting with guests and staff.
- Ability to stay organized in a challenging environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be a collaborative team player, willing to assist colleagues in other roles as needed to ensure the overall success of the operation.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, representing the company in a positive light.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the business.
- Professional demeanor at all times- particularly when fielding guest concerns.
- Able to react quickly to changing demands and prove resourceful in taking on challenges.
- Demonstrate an ability to simultaneously manage a diversity of tasks efficiently and effectively with minimal error.
- Able to establish, maintain, and follow through on priorities despite frequent interruptions, changes, and unexpected stresses.
- Prior experience in a similar role, such as host, receptionist, or customer service representative is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage offerings is beneficial for providing recommendations to guests.

- Tasks often conducted in a physical, challenging environment with ever-changing demands.
- Occasional desk work; but, in conducting dinging activity, frequent reaching, bending, and stooping with constant walking/moving around.
- Frequent travel and transporting of materials between work areas - even in inclement weather.
- Regularly pushing, lifting, and carrying of 10 to 15 pounds; occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
- Work involves leadership and collaboration with a team as well as staff from other departments.
- Shift hours vary, but may be long, include weekend and holiday attendance, and require some availability for emergencies and/or to cover staffing needs.
