
Process & Compliance Specialist

- Resident expert for regulatory compliance in the R&D environment at the MIC (both internal Yamaha policies and external policies) including accounting and purchasing procedures and facilitate training and/or familiarization among MIC staff.
- Become an expert in the Yamaha QMS (quality management system), which includes the stage-gate project approval process. Ultimately, familiarize and train development members on key deliverables for stages, roles of different stakeholders, ranking of projects, etc.
- Track, manage and maintain technology export compliance by partnering with the YMUS Export team and ensuring that all marine development projects are accurately documented in terms of technologies that are exported outside the U.S.
- Track and communicate all MIC development projects for the purpose of key stage gate timing review, resource allocation, budget considerations, etc.
- Communicate, monitor and support the process of Local Mid-Term Plan creation and approval.
- Facilitate, update and track annual work order with parent company (YMC Japan) and communicate quarterly development deliverable tracking and invoice management (confirm content, create invoice, etc.)
- Track, manage and maintain product development vehicles (boats, PWC’s, OBM’s) to ensure proper asset management and turnover of resources.
- Track, manage and maintain all development contracts, NDA’s and other related documents as required
- Track, manage and maintain the MIC Patent review and reward process for management of new IP.
- Maintain tracking of MIC employees required, and voluntary training related to R&D processes and procedures.
- BA / BS degree and/or 3 - 5 years previous experience in a similar position preferred.
- ISO, Automotive Industry QMS ISO/TS16949 or related quality/process certifications preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to travel with little notice. The estimated travel is 10%.
- Experience working with development teams preferred.
- Keen attention to detail required.
- Passion for the outdoors, boating and fishing, boating and marine experience is a plus.
