Cape Romain Contractors, Inc. is hiring a full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Wando, SC. This is a hands-on role supporting a fleet of equipment used in marine and heavy civil construction. Our mechanics are responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, including excavators, loaders, trucks, boats, barges, and cranes (friction and hydraulic). Proven experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines (required)
Strong hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting abilities (required)
Experience with outboard motors (preferred)
Knowledge of crane maintenance and repair (strongly preferred)
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
Must be organized, reliable, and capable of working independently
Comfortable working in a marine environment, around water, and on barges as needed
Responsibilities:
Perform routine service, diagnostics, and repairs on all company-owned equipment
Travel to project sites for field service and emergency repairs
Maintain accurate service logs and records in coordination with the Shop Foreman
Help manage shop tools, parts inventory, and service vehicles
Uphold company safety standards and contribute to a clean, organized work environment
