- Lead the design, construction, review, and implementation of park projects and related facilities by preparing plans, drawings, specifications, and estimates.
- Organize and participate in project liaison activities with consultants, contractors, public officials, the general public, cooperating agencies and other public jurisdictions.
- Define scopes, design parameters, obtain technical data, and perform research.
- Assist in capital plan development, long-range planning, and strategic planning.
- Site analysis, including gathering and reviewing data.
- Prepare demolition plans, tree removal and preservation plans as well as grading and drainage plans.
- Prepare detailed layout staking and construction plans and perform calculations required by local regulatory bodies.
- Obtain soil tests, prepare planting and lighting plans, develop construction details for all site elements for implementation to established Parks standards, and coordinate each of these elements with other project design professionals.
- Carry out all aspects of capital project delivery, including construction administration, preparing cost estimates for all elements of a project, obtaining regulatory approvals, compiling bid documents, and assisting in contractor selection.
- Ensure quality control as projects progress, conduct and document regular site meetings, respond to field questions and issues, verify contractor billings, and issue necessary change orders.
- Create punchlists for review of design implementation, conduct final walk−throughs to verify design compliance, and conduct post−construction evaluations.
- Prepare narratives, statistical and legislative reports, permits, grant applications, and exhibits.
- Review requests for parkland access and right-of-entry permit applications.
- Drive community outreach, marketing, and communication efforts, including public hearings and informational meetings.
- Operate vehicles, computers, general office equipment and hand tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be a current resident of USA.
- A Valid Driver’s License at time of application must be able to obtain valid Wisconsin Driver’s License within 6 months of employment
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture required.
- Five (5) years or more work experience in Landscape Architecture required.
- Professional LA license by any US state and achievement of a WI license within 6 months of hire
- GIS (Geographic Information System) and AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Construction management experience preferred
- CPSI certification preferred
