- Responsible to evaluate the quality of parts being manufactured
- Perform hands-on inspections of manufactured and purchased parts
- Calibrate manual inspection tools and equipment
- Read blueprints, welding symbols and engineering drawings and compare against completed parts to assure manufacturing accuracy
- Perform mathematics to determine why products do not conform to standards
- Recommend blueprint and drawing changes to engineers for simplicity or ease of understanding
- Evaluate extent of product non-conformances and determine disposition of purchased product, work in process and finished goods.
- Learn how to conduct full inspection layouts
- Possess some experience and ability to use various Dimensional Measuring Tools
- Communicate and follow up with suppliers regarding inspection processes
- Back up other techs as needed
- Environment is a modern production facility with heat and air conditioning.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around, sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle, and touch; reach above shoulders and talk and hear.
- The employee is required to operate a pallet jack, hoist, and hand tools.
- The employee is required to lift up to 25 pounds regularly; up to 50 pounds occasionally, with higher weights requiring assistance.
