This role plays a key part in preventive maintenance efforts, equipment reliability, and safety initiatives. The technician will also assist in training team members on basic operational and maintenance procedures to ensure efficient and safe facility operations. Union membership after 90 daysKey Skills and Abilities:Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in industrial maintenanceAbility to efficiently diagnose, disassemble, repair, and reassemble machineryKnowledge of preventative maintenance programs and systemsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentEffective time management and organizational skillsCommitment to building and leading a culture of safetyComfortable working at heights and lifting up to 50 poundsClear communication and professionalism in all interactionsPreferred: skills in welding, electrical systems, and handling pneumatic/screw conveyorsKey Responsibilities:Lead by example in safety, quality, and productivityPerform day-to-day equipment maintenance and emergency repairsMaintain and oversee preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and work ordersEnsure compliance with safety policies, food safety requirements, GMPs, and OSHA standardsMonitor maintenance KPIs and report on daily activities and equipment performanceTroubleshoot issues and participate in root cause analyses of failuresDevelop and implement maintenance procedures for new and existing equipmentCollaborate with production leaders to coordinate maintenance with operational needsMaintain relationships with contractors and service providersMaintain inventory of critical spare parts and toolsUse appropriate tools and equipment (e.g., grinders, welders, torches) to modify and repair partsEnsure work areas and equipment are clean, safe, and presentableProvide mentorship and guidance to other maintenance team membersServe as first point of contact for equipment breakdownsStay current with maintenance best practices, technology, and regulationsPerform other duties as assignedKey Personal Attributes:High integrity and professionalismHands-on, solutions-focused mindsetTeam-oriented with a positive attitudeDriven to continuously improve and learnCommitted to safety and operational excellenceEducation and Experience:3–5 years of experience in facility or plant maintenanceExperience in feed, pet food, or aquaculture operations is a plusPreferred: familiarity with drying processes, particle size reduction, and dry bulk material handlingCompensation and Benefits:The base compensation for this position ranges from $21.44 to $28.63 per hour.
