Contract Systems Engineer – BiotechOverview
We are seeking a hands-on Systems Engineer to join a hardware-focused team at a leading biotech company. This group is responsible for keeping advanced electron microscopy (EM) instruments running, managing field issues, and ensuring hardware reliability. If you have a strong attention to detail, enjoy working in the lab, and excel at documentation and quality, this role offers an excellent opportunity to build your engineering career.What You’ll DoSupport the design, testing, and verification of complex hardware systems to ensure performance meets specifications.Monitor and manage risk and requirements across development and fielded systems.Conduct verification and reliability testing of equipment quality.Troubleshoot and support resolution of field hardware issues, including EM instrument failures.Assist in developing and refining manufacturing processes, including root cause analysis and implementation of engineering solutions.Prepare clear, accurate documentation to support testing, quality verification, and compliance.Contribute to design reviews and technical discussions with cross-functional teams.Present data and findings to the group, providing suggestions to improve work processes.Help reduce designs and concepts into practice, including contributing to potential patentable inventions.Promote Quality First Time by monitoring and reviewing work for accuracy and compliance.Perform additional duties as assigned by management.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a directly related field required.Experience: Entry-level to 2 years of relevant experience.
