- Experience in a complex IBM z/OS DB2 and IMS database environment.
- Assist developers with debugging and tuning of CICS and batch DB2/IMS programs.
- Design, implement, and support DB2/IMS databases in online transaction and batch environments.
- Ability to tune DB2 queries using EXPLAIN.
- Generate scripts to migrate DB2 schema changes between environments using IBM DB2 admin tools.
- Familiar with DevOps methodology to automate database deployment.
- Experience with DB2 native SQL procedures.
- Good understanding of relational data modeling including physical database design using ERWin data modeler or other similar tool.
- Provide database support estimate for new projects.
- Provide on-going database support for Agile projects.
- Adhere to and enforce database standards.
- Introduce and deploy new database features.
- Ensure security is integrated into all data solutions to meet compliance standards.
- Perform onsite database recovery/restore as required.
- Experience with Disaster Recovery procedure and validation.
- Support DB2/IMS database upgrades.
- Design, develop, and migrate IMS databases to DB2.
- Assist Data Engineer in moving data from IMS/DB2 to distributed systems using an ETL tool, such as Qlik Replicate.
- 8+ years relevant experience as a DB2 DBA in a z/OS environment using IBM utilities, including experience with z/OS JCL, REXX/CLIST, evaluating dump output, and TSO/ISPF is required.
- IMS DBA experience in a CICS / DBCTL environment is required.
- Proven database design and development experience in a z/OS and enterprise COBOL environment is required (preferably including DB2, IMS/DB and CICS).
- Working knowledge in both Unix and windows platforms including cross-platform data access is desirable.
- Experience with DB2 stored procedures required.
- ISPW, ERwin, EZTRIEVE are all pluses.
- Experience with Qlik Replicate is a plus.
- Expertise with SQL and relational database systems.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge of data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field
