JOB SUMMARY:Manage and control weeds in non-chlorinated bodies of water. Assess pest infestations, identify appropriate control methods, apply pesticides safely and effectively, and monitor treatment effectiveness. Conduct work while adhering to regulatory guidelines and maintain accurate records of pesticide usage and environmental impact. Strong knowledge of aquatic ecosystems, pest biology, and safe pesticide handling practices are essential.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedule and apply appropriate aquatic plant control methods (mechanical, biological, chemical, preventative) to designated non-chlorinated bodies of water from boat and shore.
Schedule and apply pesticides and plant nutritional products (including herbicides, insecticides, miticides, fungicides, horticultural oils and soaps, fertilizers, turf paint, injections, and biological agents) according to label and safety procedures.
Perform routine inspections of ponds, turf, and landscapes to identify and diagnose treatment needs.
Provide proper care, maintenance, transportation, and storage of equipment and chemicals.
Provide safe removal of all unwanted wildlife throughout Universal Orlando Property.
Record pest control activity and work performed into activity reports and Maximo according to all applicable laws, regulations, and departmental policy and practice.
Maintain current state certifications for licensing as required.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED – Required
Associate’s degree in Horticulture or Entomology preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or Entomology preferred.
