Learn more atCFD Research Corporation, a small, but growing, 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a Systems Engineer with a focus on controls and electrical (C&E) systems to join our Systems Engineering Team in Huntsville, AL. The C&E Systems Engineer will report to the Systems Engineering Group Leader and lead and collaborate with the team on the execution of controls and electrical requirements pertaining to a given product or project. This role would work across multiple programs in varying stages of the product acquisition life-cycle. Essential Functions:- Plan and implement relevant activities related to electrical and controls including:
- Conducting and documenting controls and electrical analysis as well as supporting safety assessments
- Common analysis may include but are not limited to: ID,BIT, and Testability, FDI, Cybersecurity compliance
- Preparing and following up on C&E analysis
- Developing and monitoring C&E requirements
- Assist in establishing IO lists as needed
- Participate as the SME for controls during hazard analysis
- Assist in developing P&IDs
- Assist in programming, or providing guidance in programming PLCs ,if needed
- Assist in developing test protocols for FAT, SAT, and/or commissioning of products or systems
- Monitoring C&E performance during the planning, execution, operation, and maintenance phases of the projectsBasic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Systems Engineering and 5+ years of related experience
  • Experience in hazard analysis
  • Experience in fault detection fault isolation
  • Experience in PLC programming
  • Experience in system/product factory acceptance and site acceptance testing
  • Experience in commissioning of industrial controls systems
  • Knowledge of program SDRL/CDRL deliverables
  • Strong analytical and communication skills and ability to work individually and with teams
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain/maintain a security clearance
Desired Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Knowledge of Teamwork Cloud (TWC)
  • Knowledge of Software/model repository environments
  • Experience using Cameo
  • Experience programming NI and Rockwell controllers
  • Experience using Systems Modeling Language (SysML)

o Sequence Diagrams
  • Experience in SysML diagramming tools
