- Assist photographer in the set-up of camera and computer equipment, calibration of said equipment. assist in problem solving issues with all equipment, computers and software programs.
- Master the workflow that insures completing the daily production requirements.
- Serve as the liaison between the post team and the on set team for facilitating image edits, missing images, managing on set exceptions to images for timely correction and processing urgent files as per request.
- Test, pack, deliver, set up and calibrate equipment for photo and video shoots, including cameras, backs, interface and network cabling, production computers, color accurate HD monitors, professional camera software, networking, color management, and other related professional equipment and software
- Recommend, create, and maintain an efficient and secure workflow based on individual client conditions and needs and related best practices. Manage capture, edit, process, back up and deliver digital images and videos on set
- Serve as second eye to the Photographer and or Videographer by regularly checking for focus and ensure color consistency, color balance, exposure, and curves on all images.
- Support photographer with prepping and breaking down the set for the day.
- Oversight of Capture One on-set; checking for proper ISA, Camera format, ICC profile and processing images according to studio and client's standards.
- Performs photographer or videographer duties as needed.
- Expert knowledge and experience with all major digital camera systems and manufacturers including DSLR and medium format, including Canon, Nikon and Sony.
- Advanced experience in technical lighting and photography with all major lighting systems including Profoto, Broncolor and Arri.
- Expert knowledge of all capture software including Capture and Lightroom.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe CS Suite (including Photoshop and InDesign)
- Working knowledge of video capture, continuous lighting as well as editing and color grading applications including Adobe Premier, Final Cut, Adobe After Effects and DaVinci Resolve
- Expert knowledge of professional Macintosh computers and peripherals including the latest OS.
- Working knowledge of support applications including FileMaker, FTP Adobe Bridge, MS Office, MS Excel, Adobe Acrobat & Smart Sheets.
- Advanced printing experience with RGB and CMYK files and various art papers.
- Experience working with servers and raid technology.
- Ecommerce photo shoot experience in high volume, detail-oriented production environment.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring seamless execution through stellar organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to details with ability to focus on a repetitive task and consistently accurate entry of data.
- Solves non-routine problems in collaboration with his or her manager; takes initiative to modify procedures and processes as appropriate and makes contributions that impact work team results.
- Demonstrated planning skills and the ability to prioritize using information around due dates, clients, internal resource skill sets and when to escalate for assistance and awareness.
- Ability to work both independently and within a changing team.
- Is respectful and courteous when interacting with others, a calm and collaborative demeanor is expected when working through conflict.
- Must have proficient basic math skills and ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Photography or related field or equivalent technical education and professional experience
- 2+ years of experience on-set experience as an Assistant or Digital Tech / Photographer's Assistant, preferably in fashion or related field
- Capture One certification desired
- Experience in digital image workflow systems such as Shot flow are a plus.
- Knowledge of photographic and video techniques such as capture, lighting and composition.
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to stand and work on a cement studio floor for up to a full workday.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (i.e. keyboarding, data entry, sample tagging).
- Must be able to see and hear to gather and input information; respond to face-to-face and telephone inquiries.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing a maximum of 50 lbs.
