This division develops positioning, control and automation products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers and sonics. The products are used in a range of applications where the operator of the machine benefits from having accurate horizontal and vertical guidance. For more information on currently developed products, seeCTCT currently has a job opening for a Proactive Quality Engineer. This position will report to the CTCT Quality Manager. The CTCT quality team works in a dynamic global environment that supports a hybrid work schedule and flexible work hours.The primary focus of this role is that of proactive quality within the new product development process for electronic components and associated hardware required in machine guidance systems. The Quality Engineer will serve as a Subject Matter Expert for risk management in both the design and production of electronic hardware components. Specialization in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) facilitation is required and it is expected that the Quality Engineer will facilitate and train others to facilitate FMEA sessions with diverse, cross-functional teams.The Quality Engineer is also responsible for the refinement of methods and training within the CTCT organization for FMEA tools. The Quality Engineer provides leadership and is a key contributor on project teams, overseeing the execution of the CTCT Proactive Quality Strategy. This role is responsible for evaluating and communicating quality risks within hardware development projects outward and upward in the organization as required.Interpersonal, leadership, and strong communication skills are required. Significant challenges of this position are working with people on cross-functional teams with diverse technical and cultural backgrounds: enhancing the team’s creativity; facilitating the team’s cooperation; clearly communicating requirements and tasks, while gaining input from the team on refinement of the same; translating both verbal and non-verbal information from the customer, management, and team members.Key Responsibilities:Execute the CTCT Proactive Quality Strategy through engagement on hardware development project teams.Support development & refinement of the Quality Strategy through risk management techniques.Serve as Subject Matter Expert to coach and mentor project teams on risk management tools (Including but not limited to; FMEAs, boundary diagrams, P-diagrams, risk assessments, etc.Concurrent work on multiple project teams and CTCT initiatives.Facilitate change management as necessary.Integrate insights from product analytics into risk management tools.Integrate the CTCT Supportability Strategy into component development through use of risk management tools. Contribute to component level requirements for system supportability needs.Facilitate risk-based Verification and Validation planning and execution in conjunction with project managers.Collaborate on component and system risk management based on outcomes of Current Product Improvement projects.Update and report out Quality Metrics for active projects in reviews. This includes Quality Dashboards, Risk Scorecards, and Carry Over Analyses.Maintaining CTCT risk management templates & project review dashboards used for hardware component projects.Required Qualifications / Skills:Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field plus strong knowledge of Hardware, Software and System product development.Experience in design and manufacture of electronic components.Experience in FMEA methodologies and facilitation.Skilled in problem identification and problem resolution with up to date understanding and hands-on experience with industry best practices and tools.Strong leadership skills with exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with a global team.Ability to recognize improvement opportunities.Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience is required.Six Sigma experience as a Black Belt or Master Black Belt is desired.Skilled in failure analysis and root cause determination is desired.Experience in product support, testing, or any hands-on role working with customer issues is desirable.American Society for Quality (ASQ) or global equivalent certification as a Manager of Quality (CMQ), Quality Engineer (CQE), Quality Auditor (CQA), Mechanical Inspector (CMI), or Reliability Engineer (CRE) is a plus.Additional InformationThe primary location for this position is Dayton, OH. or Peoria, IL25% travel is required for this position.Sponsorship is not available.-Pay Equity-Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position.
