
Hardware Support Technician

- The Hardware Support Technician performs imaging, software installation, diagnostic testing, and component-level repair of IT devices across the organization
- This role ensures timely restoration of technology services and supports end users and field technicians in resolving hardware-related issues
- The technician also assists with documentation, inventory management, and quality assurance, ensuring service-level compliance and operational excellence
- Image and configure computers and mobile devices with approved operating systems and software
- Perform diagnostics and repair tasks on hardware including screens, batteries, keyboards, and logic boards
- Triage damaged equipment and execute component-level testing and replacement
- Reassemble, label, and package repaired or configured hardware for deployment
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, imaging, and replacements
- Provide phone-based support to field technicians and internal users
- Participate in writing procedures, job aids, and troubleshooting guides
- Working knowledge of computer hardware (desktops, laptops, tablets, peripherals)
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and imaging tools
- Understanding of hardware diagnostics, ESD safety, and repair workflows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Associate Degree in Information Technology or related field (Preferred)
- High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience (Required)
- CompTIA A+ Certification (Preferred)
- Other IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft) a plus
- Minimum 2 years of experience in computer hardware configuration, support, or repair in a technical environment
- A combination of education and experience may qualify
