Senior Staff Engineer, ProjectPosition Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Staff Project Engineer to lead technical teams on new product development projects in the Control Actuation Systems (PAS) area. This role focuses on developing embedded systems for the manipulation and control of flight actuation systems. Responsibilities include defining and managing requirements, planning technical tasks, reviewing designs, integration and testing, system validation, and creating release documentation. Candidates should have a background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering. This position interacts closely with senior engineers, system engineers, test engineers, program managers, and customers.Key Responsibilities:Manage technical team performance to meet project schedules and budgets while supporting the program manager.Lead the development of electromechanical systems for commercial and military platforms.Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and strong communication skills.Support new business pursuits by addressing technical requirements, schedule, and cost considerations.Lead technical teams from project initiation to completion.Plan, organize, supervise, and control multiple projects concurrently.Interface with commercial and military customers for technical program definition and execution.Identify technical tasks, resources, and create engineering development plans, WBS, and project documentation.Manage system-level and lower-level requirements.Review and oversee technical reports to satisfy internal and external deliverables.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.6+ years of experience as a technical lead.New Product Development experience in aerospace or military industries.Proven ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish.Excellent presentation and technical communication skills.Experience developing WBS, project plans, and technical requirements.Strong documentation and writing skills.Comfortable working closely with engineers and technicians in laboratory environments.Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.U.S. citizenship required.Additional Responsibilities:Drive initiatives to closure in a timely manner through effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Follow all safety, quality, and company policies to ensure regulatory compliance.Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication.Participate in team meetings, improvement programs, and company initiatives.Assist in training personnel to perform technical tasks.Maintain work area cleanliness, security, and organization.Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.Work Environment:Exposure to typical manufacturing environments, including machine shops, assembly, and testing areas, requiring proper personal protective equipment.Office environment requiring use of telephone and computer.May require overtime or work under pressure to meet deadlines.Physical Requirements:Regularly required to see, talk, and hear.Frequently required to reach, handle, and manipulate objects with hands.Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and move about the facility.May be required to lift/move items up to 20 pounds.Compensation:Pay Range: $138,000 - $185,000 per yearLocation: Chaska, MNAdditional Information:Many projects require proof of U.S. citizenship or an export license for compliance with federal, state, or local regulations.
