Job Description:Job DescriptionUnit Overview: 6A, Medical-Surgical-Telemetry unit.6A is a 23 bed post interventional telemetry unit. Units primarily serves patients who have undergone cardiac catheterization procedures including interventional procedures and electrophysiology. Staff receive specialized training for post catheterization, femoral sheaths and Tikosyn.Shift: PRN, NightsJob Description:Under the direction of Unit Director, Clinical House Supervisor, +/or DesigneeProvides supervision of workflow and staff for a designated shift in overseeing the efficient functioning of the departmentAssures the provision of patient care, by addressing performance, risk management, patient, family and physician issues/concerns as appropriate.The Charge Nurse is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.As a clinical nurse, the charge nurse spends majority of his/her time (
50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:Active Kentucky RN licenseBLS, ACLS and/or other designated unit specific certification training/requirementsBachelor’s Degree in Nursing or currently actively pursuing a BSN degree.
