
Grants Accounting Supervisor - Wake County Sheriff's Office

- Oversee grant administration, including guiding and assisting divisions in the development of grant
- Ensure through appropriate communications, compliance with grant specifications as well as cooperative development of the direction, goals and objectives of grants with program management
- Coordinate and maintain grant accounting and reports, verify all expenditures are complete and reconciled to the general ledger and comply complex grant expense reports as required by the grantors
- Track revenue receipt
- Provide technical assistance with grant accounting support by uploading and maintaining grant budgets in our accounting system
- Ensure recipient and sub recipient monitoring of grant fund expenditures
- Provide staff support through effective supervision, coaching and performance management
- Write and edit grant proposals, applications and supporting documents to secure new funding opportunities
- Collaborate with relevant departments to gather data and craft compelling narratives that meet funder guidelines
- Track deadlines and submission requirements to ensure timely and complete grant submissions
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field
- Three years of experience in accounting
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

- Proven experience in grant writing, including a track record of successful proposals
- Ability to understand basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution
- Advanced knowledge of the functional job area typically obtained through advanced experience
- Supervisory skills with the ability to provide guidance and professional support to staff, offer regular feedback, hold staff accountable, and serve as a mentor
- Analytical skills with an ability to focus on the details
- Organizational and time management skills
- Computer proficiency with electronic accounting systems required
- Thorough knowledge of applicable county, state and federal policies
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Ability to build and develop strong interrelationships with funders, agency representatives and other collaborating institutions
- Knowledge of government and foundational granting requirements and grants administration
- Excellent written communication and research skills
- Familiarity with public and private funding sources
