
Lab Tech III

- Proficient in all Lab Technician I and II essential duties and responsibilities
- Sample a variety of incoming waste materials and determines proper analytical methods required for compliance in accordance with established guidelines and training.
- Ensure proper written and electronic documentation of all test results including QA/QC and audits sample documents prior to approval and completeness of summarizing data.
- Maintain proficiency of troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical equipment and documents in accordance with quality assurance and control compliance.
- Gather appropriate paperwork for management approvals and notifies staff of any incomplete sections needing attention. Compiles and reports analysis data including QA/QC data for review.
- Perform periodic self audits of analytical logs to ensure federal regulation compliance for completeness and error corrections.
- Experienced in all areas, including metals/PCB analysis, and able to function and produce at high levels with minimum supervision and able to do routine troubleshooting on these instruments.
- Help management facilitate achievement of laboratory goals
- Be able to identify and bring to the attention of management result anomalies in a timely manner and trouble shoot common mistakes that a Lab Technician I or II may not recognize
- Must be able to recognize the importance of following procedures.
- Eligible for enhanced compensation for additional duties/responsibilities within Technical department, such as, labpack approvals.
- Perform lab housekeeping and sample management duties to ensure a clean and safe work area. Labels lab waste containers and properly disposes of lab waste per guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree with an emphasis in Chemistry required
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline preferred
- Prior laboratory work experience of 2-4 years required
