Summer Food Service Manager

- Under the direction of the Director, maintain standards of cleanliness in kitchen
- Prepare and distribute morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack on a daily basis
- Clean kitchen and dishes by the end of each shift
- Maintain menu and grocery shop for menu on a weekly basis.
- Remove garbage from kitchen and classrooms on a daily basis.
- Organize and clean refrigerator and freezer
- Store milk in refrigerator upon delivery
- Keep daily/weekly count of milk used by each classroom.
- At least one year of work experience as a cook preferred
- Possess or obtain current food service certification
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Knowledge of the rules/guidelines related to kitchen rules/safety
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Desire and ability to work with children
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
- Track record of building relationships with staff, volunteers, and parents.
- Annual CACFP Training
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required
